The Kentwood and Franklinton communities are mourning the heartbreaking loss of 43-year-old Jerome Warren, who tragically lost his life in a fatal two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning, May 28, 2026.

The crash occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. on LA 1057 near Milburn Grace Road in Tangipahoa Parish and has left family, friends, and loved ones grieving an unexpected and devastating loss.

Louisiana State Police Respond to Fatal Crash

According to Louisiana State Police Troop L, troopers responded to the scene shortly after the collision was reported and immediately began investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Officials later confirmed that the crash claimed the life of Jerome Warren of Franklinton.

Preliminary findings indicate that Warren was traveling eastbound in a 2007 Chevrolet Impala on LA 1057 when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway.

Authorities say Warren then attempted to regain control of the vehicle, which reportedly overcorrected and crossed back over the roadway into the westbound lane.

At that moment, the right side of Warren’s vehicle collided with a 2021 Western Star tractor-trailer traveling in the opposite direction.

Following the impact, both vehicles left the roadway and came to rest within a nearby tree line.

Victim Pronounced Deceased at Scene

Authorities confirmed that Jerome Warren was unrestrained at the time of the crash and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was properly restrained and was not injured in the collision.

Officials stated that impairment is not currently suspected as a contributing factor in the crash. However, routine toxicology samples were collected and will be analyzed as part of the ongoing investigation.
