The Jacksonville community is mourning the tragic loss of Edwin Barber, Savannah Barber, and Shad Cole, who were killed in a deadly triple stabbing early Thursday morning in the Normandy Estates neighborhood.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, officers were dispatched at approximately 3:50 a.m. to the 1300 block of Exodus Way following a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, authorities found a man suffering from apparent stab wounds, who was transported to a nearby hospital and later pronounced dead.

While securing the area, officers discovered two additional victims nearby—a second man and a woman—both pronounced dead at the scene.

Victims identified

The deceased have been identified as:

  • Edwin Barber, 49
  • Savannah Barber, 27
  • Shad Cole, 37

Family members have been notified, and the community is left grappling with grief over the sudden and violent loss.

A 30-year-old man, Austin Fisher, has been arrested and faces three counts of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths.
