The Caledonia community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Eva J. Moran, 19, who tragically passed away following a three-vehicle crash on Friday evening in Claridon Township, Marion County, Ohio. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 5:28 p.m. on May 29, 2026, near milepost 21 on State Route 309. Investigators reported that Eva was traveling eastbound when her vehicle struck the rear of a GMC Acadia that was stopped while waiting to make a left turn into a private driveway. Following the initial impact, Eva’s vehicle crossed the centerline and entered the path of a westbound Jeep Grand Cherokee. The resulting collision was severe, and authorities stated that Eva was ejected from her vehicle during the crash. Emergency responders from Marion Township EMS arrived quickly and transported her to Marion General Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Eva later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the GMC Acadia, 19-year-old Nathaniel R. Blankenship of Marion, was treated at the scene for possible injuries. The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, 23-year-old Dalila Zamudio of Galion, sustained minor injuries and later sought treatment at Marion General Hospital. Authorities have confirmed that the crash remains under investigation.
